It is amazing how far along the simulation genre has come in the last decade.
With software and technology advancing as they have been, it's not hard to become completely immersed in these virtual environments, graying out the fine line between what is reality and what is not.
Flight sims seem to have made an impressive appearance during the last year or so.
While there has always been the steady Microsoft Flight Simulator looming on the horizon, a handful of others have made their appearance.
Between Flight Pro Sim, Flight Simulator X and Pro Flight Simulator, the choices leave little to be wanted.
I'm a fan of Pro Flight Simulator to be honest.
The choices in aircraft alone make this small purchase worth it in respect to the entertainment value.
You have the ability to choose from over 120 realistic aircraft, from the antique flyers of the early 1900's all that way up to the latest Military technology.
Couple that with a very realistic terrain, a customizable weather model and over 20,000 known airports to choose from, and you'll quickly find out that the possibilities are nearly endless.
If you're like me, then you used to dread flying.
I found the realism in sims like this gave me the understanding of exactly how safe air travel can be.
The simulated aircraft in Pro Flight Simulator gives you the ability to fly some very unique models.
Have you ever wanted to experience the Wright Brothers flight? How about screaming along in Russian or US Military aircraft? The choices are nearly endless with the Boeing 747 all the way down to the smaller Cessna aircraft.
The cockpit realism really ties this flight simulator all together.
