Enroll your business with the IRS. Visit the agency's website to file business/self-employed taxes (See Resources). The service for filing business or self-employment taxes is called the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) and is a free service provided by the U.S. Treasury Department. To enroll, you will need your federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) or Social Security number (if self-employed), business or corporation name and primary contact information for your business. You may also enroll your business by phoning 800-555-4477.

Visit the EFTPS website and complete the required steps. Using the PIN (Personal Identification Number) set up during enrollment, the EFTPS will collect information regarding your business taxes (including withholdings and income taxes) by completing the necessary forms. Payments can be made up to 120 days in advance.

Forms are specific to the business type and are classified under business structure (for example, sub S corporation, sole proprietorship, limited liability company, limited liability partnership) and available via the IRS website.
