Canadian Government Air Travel Regulations
- Anyone traveling by air, boat or land to Canada must provide a valid passport or equivalent identification.
- Aside from a passport, Americans can enter Canada by air using a military identification or passport card. A military ID is only available to members of the armed services. A passport card, which is available to any U.S. citizen, is a photo ID (like a driver's license) that can be purchased from the passport office. You can only use this card to travel between the United States, Canada and Mexico. You can travel anywhere in the world with a traditional passport booklet.
- The Canadian government also enforces the National Airports Policy that says the government is responsible for assuring airplanes and transportation (domestic and international) are efficient, eco-friendly, safe and competitively priced.
