    Gas Edger Buying Guide

    • 1). Make note of your lawn size and think about how much you will use your gas edger, as this makes a difference in the type you should purchase and how much to spend.

Consider walk-behind edger machines whose gas-powered engines also propel the wheels, so that you simply steer the edger. For larger yards or frequent use in a lawn care company, a push edger on wheels will be your best option.

Look at edger attachments that connect to trimmers, like Weed Eaters, and run off the trimmer's gas engine to power the edger. This is the most economical option and is an excellent choice if you already have a trimmer and only need to edge a small or medium area. Ensure that your trimmer and the attachment are compatible, of course.

    • 4). Check the machine's safety features, such as an enclosed blade area and a safety on the handle that must be compressed to keep the engine running. All power equipment has the potential to harm and should be used with care.

    • 5). Ask about the manufacturer's warranty and the return policy before buying a gas edger. The company should stand behind its product for at least a year after you buy it.
