The Home Based Business Simply put, a home based business venture is not going anywhere, it is not declining, or otherwise floating into a microcosm of nothing, and actually, that sphere of entrepreneurial effort is growing, at this time.
It is estimated that more than half of business entities in America, are home based.
Often a foe of the corporate giant and rich people alike, the home business is an opportunity anyone can get into, and let their creative and business energy flow to optimal perfection.
Moreover, people who may not be home business owners themselves will look with slanted eye at an entrepreneurial opportunity.
Oftentimes, a home business owner is seen as "just another entrepreneur," and in fact, you may be guilty of this as well.
How many times have you shrugged off someone who is classified as an entrepreneur? I know I have thought sometimes that it is simply a way to say you are doing something, by not doing anything at all.
Of course, there are plenty of hard-working home business owners out there, who prove us all wrong.
Results, Statistics and Advantages What are some results that show true entrepreneurial success? Well, you may have an example or two from your own experience, but here are a few.
Take music lessons for example.
How many times have you heard about someone wanting to take piano or guitar lessons? Well, you would need to call someone, right? You are investing in a musical teacher who is an entrepreneur when you do.
Other examples are interior designers, writers, vending machine owners, artists or freelancing web developers, just to name a few.
Income What that qualifies is that the home based business owner is making 50% or more of their income, from their business.
That is how they are building their income.
The only difference is that some of us wake up at 9 and commute to work, and others wake up in their office already.
Statistics do back up these claims, it is reported that there are around 6.
6 million home-based businesses, started by entrepreneurs.
As the economic climate shifts, becoming a business owner does not seem like a bad gig at all.
The statistics from Network Solutions Small Business Success Index (SBSI) shows that around 35% of home business owners operate with incomes of more than $125,000 dollars, and roughly, 8% operate with an income of more than $500,000.
Those are simply astounding numbers, for an individual business owner; one that competes with larger corporate entities even.
How long does a typical home business last? Well it is reported by SBSI that many home business ventures are lasting, with (on average) 50% of owners being in operation for more than 15 years.
In addition, this business creates jobs.
Around 39% of home based businesses employ between 2 to 5 people; it is estimated that the total employed equates to around 13.
2 million American workers.
Entrepreneurial Benefits You may have been one employee who has recently experienced a layoff due to the economic climate.
If you have limited job options, a home business could be a good turnaround.
In that sense, an opportunity like this will grow during times of high unemployment, as corporations work to limit their workforces, not increase them.
The strategy is driven by technology, and the overall low cost of starting a home business.
It no longer takes huge capital, or colossal loans to get a started in a given market (depending on the industry you choose).
Flexibility, An Advantage What are some advantages to it? Well, the increasing flexibility, with time and business demands are always a plus.
The ability to create your own idea, and have that earn income, is an obvious "pro.
" Overall, it is a way to ensure there is enough time for work and life, at the same time.
Essentially, it is something you can make money at, while keeping your personal life in check.
