How to Install Wheelchair Tie Downs
- 1). Secure a track fitting, for one of the tie downs, into the floor plate or track with a power drill. Make sure the fitting is between 3 and 8 inches from the outside of the front wheels.
- 2). Pull on the fitting to make sure it is properly locked in place and then run the tie down around a solid part of the wheelchair.
- 3). Attach the tie down by connecting the hook end into the ring opening.
- 4). Pull the slack on the tie down until it is tight.
- 5). Repeat the steps 1 through 4 for the tie down on the other side.
- 1). Secure a track fitting, for one of the tie downs, into the floor plate or track with a power drill. Make sure the fitting is placed on the inside of the front wheel.
- 2). Pull on the fitting to make sure it is properly locked in place and then run the tie down around a solid part of the wheelchair.
- 3). Attach the tie down by connecting the hook end into the ring opening.
- 4). Open the buckle and pull the slack on the tie down and then close the buckle to apply tension.
- 5). Repeat the steps 1 through 4 for the tie down on the other side.
