    Sculpture

    • Sculpture is the 27th anniversary gift the American National Retail Jewelers' Association recommended. If your friend is traditional, buy her a sculpture crafted by an artist. Most sculptures are made of wood, stone, marble, clay or a similar substance. If your friend is eccentric and unusual, find an odd sculpture, such as one made out of toothpicks or candy. If you have artistic talent or know your friend is sentimental, make your own sculpture. Even a novice sculptor can make a simple clay sculpture, such as a box or a paperweight in the shape or a heart.

    Paint a Sculpture

    • Visit a local pottery store that offers a paint-your-own-sculpture service. Take your friend or the couple to the store and offer to buy them any sculpture and any painting time. Most of these stores offer a variety of precrafted sculptures and allow you to paint them with a variety of colors and tools. The store then fires the sculpture for you so that you take home a shiny, colorful sculpture you can place on your mantle.

    Food

    • As with many holidays and celebrations, food always serves as a appropriate gift. Bake cookies, cakes or muffins. Cook your friend's favorite meal, serve him an elegant dinner or take him to a fancy restaurant. If you have some baking talent, you can create a cookie or cake sculpture. Make a several-layer cake with extravagant decorations made of frosting and candy. Create a muffin or cookie tower on the platter you use to give the gift to your friend. To make the platter extra special, wrap it with colored paper or plastic wrap and add ribbons or stickers.

    Novelty Gifts

    • Once a couple has been married for 27 years, they tend to find that a sense of humor is necessary for navigating through both life and marriage. You can buy your friend novelty lingerie such as lingerie that says "Sexy Grandma" or "Hot Mama." Buy your friend a funny mug that makes commentary on marriage, such as an image of a woman dragging a man to the altar. Buy him gifts that commemorate the year they married or events during their marriage. If they married at the beach, buy a "Life's a Beach" T-shirt. If they married in the 1970s, buy flared paints and a disco ball.
