How to Treat Chemical Peel Scars
- 1). Stop getting the chemical peel done or any other facial procedures for the time being. An inexperienced technician may recommend another type of procedure to get rid of the scars instead of recommending a doctor for treatment.
- 2). Make an appointment with a dermatologist. In order to find a licensed doctor in your area, go to the American Academy of Dermatology's website and put in your zip code.
- 3). Apply any creams recommended by the dermatologist. If your scar feels sensitive or itches, the doctor may suggest that you apply a small amount of antihistamine cream to the scarring site.
- 4). Set up a procedure to treat the scars from the chemical peels. The severity of the scars will determine the type of procedure recommended by the dermatologist. Options include dermabrasion, laser surgery, collagen injections and steroid injections.
