Running Drills are a big help Endurance is the name of the game when it comes to football, and running will help you endurance grow.
These drills are meant to help you play your hardest throughout the entire game.
Teams, or individuals, that do not complain throughout the running drills will be better off and better prepared for a game.
Because in the end, the team or players that are the fastest are the ones that win the championships.
Another benefit that you will not see at first, is the ability to push yourself past your limits.
Learning the Basics of Catching a Low Football Pass Good receivers and even running backs know how to make the great plays.
Making the plays means that you have practiced the "non-optimal" situation and know how to react to them.
Perfect and not so perfect scenarios should constantly run at football practice.
One not so perfect scenario is a low passed catch.
First, keep your hands down low in a scooping or shovel position; you can even cross your pinkies.

Locking your pinkies prevents the football from falling through your hands.
Third, once the ball touches your hands scoop it up into your chest and tuck it away into a secure position.

The drill is simple and starts by having the player pass the ball around their head, torso, arms, knees, and even between their feet from one hand to another in constant motion.
The best thing that a coach can do is call out body parts that the players will have to move the ball around, or even calling a reverse command were the players will need to change the direction of the football.
This change of motion will keep players from falling asleep, and ensure that you are developing handling skills and not just muscle memory.
We recommend that you end this drill by doing several football drops.
The player will drop the ball and quickly pick it up again.
They also should rotate which hand they are using to pick it up so that you can increase ball handling with both.
Conditioning Drill: Up Downs The popular conditioning drill known as "up downs" is a very effective way to increase cardiovascular activity and endurance.
This drill consists of having players run in place as fast and as hard as they can.
At the coaches signal the players will drop to the ground and do a push up, and then quickly get back up and start running again.
As up downs require endurance and strength, players are encouraged to start in slow short burst and work up to longer and more intense sessions.
