Movement is limited as even the slightest budge of the lump can cause intense pain.
This disease however is very common.
Almost 50% of the population experiences it especially as we grow older.
Because it is already outside the anal cavity, other complications such as infections can set in.
The lump can also develop in to a blood clot, hardening it and making the pain worse.

So, how can we prevent external hemorrhoids? Measures to prevent it are easy and attainable, but you need to be disciplined enough to pursue it.
Constipation is the major cause, thus, lubricating those stools as much as possible can help prevent it.
If you are constipated all the time, then changing your eating habits can be a solution.
Avoid eating too much fatty foods and eat more fibrous ones instead.
Drinking a lot of water, at least eight glasses per day can also help.
If you're used to drinking sodas and carbonated drinks, now is the time to drink plenty of plain water instead.
Exercising regularly (ie three to four times per week) can mobilize your stools, making it easier to pass them.
If you feel the urge to go to the toilet, then do it.
The more you hold it in, the harder it gets to go.
Creams, gels and suppositories can also be used to relieve pain and itching from external hemorrhoids.
But who wants to wear suppositories in your butt all day long? In managing external hemorrhoids, prevention is still the best cure.
