Gout - Let"s Understand Some of the Causes
- Gout is that painful swelling that you can get in you joints from time to time especially from over the age of 40 years old.
- One morning you may just wake up with a swollen foot, knee or elbow joint, this is caused by an excessive amount of acid building up overnight and crystallizing around these joint parts.
- The cause of this mostly, can be put down to the different varieties of food that you consume.
- Having gout can really restrict our daily activities and stop us from moving around freely or going to do our daily job.
- Gout can be caused by the build up of the uric acid in your blood stream which in turn crystallize and when it reaches extreme levels as it flows around it gets caught up in our joint area.
This in turn causes the swelling and severe pain as it can not break down and get flushed out. - This acid is derived from purines.
These purines are natural to our body and will also be found in certain alcohols and foods.
As our body processes these purines they can be transformed into uric acid. - When our body metabolises our kidneys make over 63% of purines while the rest made from our digestive processing.
This acid in general will de-solve in the blood stream and pass through our kidneys in the form of urine.
When the body produces to much acid and not enough is removed from urinating, this uric acid will build up and crystallize around certain joints and the this is what gout is. - Bacon which is one our many foods that we love to consume can be one of the foods that causes gout.
This wonderful delicious food is high in sodium fat content and is one of the causes of heart disease and does not follow the good for your health rule.
Too much alcohol in the kidneys makes them difficult to keep moving out the uric acid, so by eliminating your alcohol intake considerably will give your kidneys the chance of removing the uric acid.
Al sea foods like fish, oysters, anchovies, fish eggs and trout do contain high levels of the purine that in turn create the uric acid while digesting these foods.
