How to Replace the Shifter Handle on a Ford F-350
- 1). Turn off your F-350's engine, and open its hood. Disconnect the black cable running to the car battery.
- 2). Remove the screws holding the cover on the steering column. Pull off the top and bottom portion of the cover.
- 3). Remove the two screws holding the shifter arm to the steering column.
- 4). Disconnect the small wire harness that connects to the shifter arm. Pull the shifter arm out of the steering column.
- 5). Connect the new shifter arm to the steering column, and wire its electrical connection. Tighten the two screws to secure the new shifter on the steering column.
- 6). Place the top and bottom covers back on the steering column. Tighten its screws to secure it to the vehicle.
- 7). Reconnect the black battery cable and close the hood.
