This softball hitting drill is basically called "hitting the numbered ball drill".
This is a very fun and skill enhancing drill so make sure to read and understand the mechanics carefully.
The softball batter takes a bat, gets on the proper stance, securely holds the bat, not to tight, raise the shoulders and elbows, feet set apart for support, and eyes focused on the ball.
The coach or pitcher then pitches a ball which is numbered one to four.
The twist in this drill is to keep the batter completely focused on the ball.
She will then have to tell the pitcher what number the ball is once it is thrown without hitting the ball.
The batter just takes the proper hitting position but she is not to strike the ball.
This softball hitting drill is one of the best and most effective ways of teaching a softball player to always keep their eye and focus on the ball.
