How to File a Complaint With the ACLU
- 1). Look in your phone book or go on-line to www.aclu.org. When going on-line, scroll to the bottom and click on the tab “your local ACLU.” A map of the United States will come up; click on your state. The name of the executive director for your state ,as well as an email address, mailing address and phone number are provided.
- 2). Call the number for your local office and tell them you would like to file a complaint. Give your name and address to the person you speak to. The forms will be mailed out to you.
- 3). Fill out the forms when they arrive and mail them back to the ACLU. There is no set time for a decision to be made on your claim but, if you have not received a response in four weeks, call to see if your claim has been received.
