If you wanted to lose weight and replace fat with muscle, how would you go about doing so? Chances are that you would say some form of exercise is necessary to meet your goal.

I am venturing to guess that kettlebells are something you have not thought of, and am here to tell you how to get started with them.
The first thing you will need is a kettlebell itself.
It basically looks like a cannonball with a handle on it, and comes in any number of weights.
Selecting the right weight can make all the difference; if it is too heavy, then you risk injuring yourself, but if it is too light, then you will not feel challenged and may find it difficult to obtain your desired result.
It is a great idea to test out various weights before making a purchase to find the one that is right for you.
Some kettlebells can even be adjusted to vary the amount of weight.
The second thing that you will need is some direction, since doing an exercise incorrectly can bring more harm than good.
But do not go out and hire a personal trainer just yet.
On an informal basis, YouTube videos of kettlebell routines are widely available.
On a more professional level though, there is an abundance of instructional DVDs and books by fitness experts.
They model the way moves should be done for maximum benefit, and you can imitate them at your own pace.
Whether you are a novice or a seasoned kettlebell user, you can rest assured that there is a workout regimen out there that you can have fun with.
