Let's talk about Successful Kids for a moment or I should say kids that are brought up to be more successful than their counterparts. I've heard that some people are just born with the stuff it takes to have the drive and determination to succeed. I'm not sure that's entirely true. I believe it is instilled upon us at a very early age by our upbringing and surroundings.

Many years ago in Los Angeles I was visiting friends of mine, and I remember them both showing me how they were teaching their nearly one year old daughter to say advanced power words like investment, accomplishment, and Success and they were proud of how well she was doing.

The thought crossed my mind that the parents were perhaps being a bit unfair to their child because most other children her age were still learning the words Dog, Cat, and Cow. But the girl seemed to enjoy trying to repeat the words her parents were teaching her so I figured that was a good thing.

Now, normally I would have just forgotten about it, but it was about a month or two later I was asked if I wanted to go along to the local Drive-in movie theater. (Long ago)

After the first movie and during the Intermission (break), a couple of cars over parked side by side; there were four adults and maybe six kids between them.

If you have ever been to a Drive-in Movie then you know you can bring items such as lawn chairs and coolers and sit along the front of the vehicles and enjoy the movie from outside the vehicle rather than inside

We were also sitting along side our cars waiting for the movie to begin and I could hear a mans voice teaching a two or three year old child to say words and the child would repeat the words and the adults would uproar with laughter and of course so would the child.

This went on for a few minutes and I realized the words they were €teaching€ their child were words that described human excrement, and the word that describes where it comes from. I couldn't believe my ears and that they were actually teaching one of the children to say swear words and they were loving it.

In fact, I could see the child loved the attention so much that he repeated the words over and over again a bit louder until the adults finally stopped him when the movie began

I could be wrong but I would bet that the child being taught the more complicated words grew up to lead a more successful life than the child being taught toilet words.

Teach your children well and they have a better chance of being well adjusted adults and tomorrows leaders. Teach your children well and you will delight in their accomplishments and achievements.

Our children's future begins at home. By proper upbringing at home we can have faith that our children will have a chance to grow up to become greater than ourselves. Raising successful children doesn't have to be difficult. We've just got to give them the building blocks to achieve their desired goals in life.
