Cultic Illusions As Hope Springs Eternal
From secret meanings about symbolic images, to perceived patterns of conspiratorial complicities, psychic bias has no limitations.
For the complicated questions about the universe, cosmic destiny and solar salvation, the human quest takes on many psychological manifestations.
To the fringes of human behaviors, and the deadly horrors that loom in the shadows, evidentiary artifacts for motivational influences are usually mysterious in nature.
Yet, in the aftermath of some horrific event, we want to know why such a thing happened.
The "why" question applied to human actions is the most difficult to answer.
Deep within the powerful recesses of the unconscious aspects of mind, who knows? No one has the ultimate, final and comprehensive answers to "why" people do the things they do.
As such, conceptions about the meaning of life, death, and eternity stir imaginative formulations around basic principles, by which people will believe anything.
And from belief, they are capable of everything, including the most heinous of homicidal behavior.
Not to forget of course, this includes most dangerous perversions of belief systems perceivable.
In the perspective of "cultic illusions", it is the persistent flirtation with "group think" that seems fascinating.
If a "cult", as well as "cultic thinking", can be characterized as an unorthodox or extreme belief system, then a number of groups could be so regarded.
Such a definition depends on the perception of the viewer.
In a basic frame of reference, a "cult" could be an ideology or philosophical point of view regarded by others as outside the mainstream.
Added to that, could be the authority, direction and oppression, as guided by a charismatic "leader".
Of the leadership, or lack thereof, one might consider the title of guru, shaman, sage, or "spiritual leaders" could be applied.
Believability by adherents is often said to be that of idolization of the central figure of authority.
With idolizing the alleged "leader", typically you find a slant toward worship in the behavior of the believers.
Not so much devotion to the doctrine as much as it is adulation of the religious teacher.
So, many factors could be expounded upon with regard to "cultic illusions" and the idea of a group described as a "cult".
However, is more relevant here are the behavioral aspects of human beings.
Supposedly, in an era of technological revolution and scientific innovation, there is an expectation of a corresponding elevation of intellectual enlightenment.
Perhaps some of us indulge in too much wishful thinking that people will somehow insist upon their own transformation.
Then again, that requires hard work to change oneself into a more profound version than the original self.
For the few who strive, it could take a lifetime of self-evaluation and strenuous devotion to thinking on deeper levels.
Nonetheless, careful observation across the wide spectrum of humankind would suggest the opposite.
Instead of a widespread awakening of mature growth in mental capacity, it appears the human race is devolving into a regressive state of primordial existence.
Critical thinking, which should be applied rigorously and authentically, ought to encourage more profound insightful and rational perspectives.
Searching for facts and discovering evidence should trump the ease by which superstition is quickly embraced.
Scientific innovations offer the prospects of setting beliefs free from reliance upon supernatural forces to rescue us from our stupidity.
That doesn't appear to be the case now, or anytime in the future.
In fact, recent studies by national and international organizations suggest just the opposite.
Belief in ancient myths, magical dogma and mystical forces beyond humans, are higher than ever.
Could it be speculated that all of us, or maybe the vast majority, harbor some inclination toward a "cultic" or "cult-like" affinity for believing something? To that end, what if we believe something then want others to agree? Added to that, what if we look for someone, a shaman or wise person, who has what we are looking for? Many want acceptance, approval and feelings validated no matter what it might take to get that.
In addition, a lot people need the subjective validation for their thinking, as in religion, which is based on the paranormal.
That is, many of us want to be identified with a certain belief system of a group, and thereby, we seem to gravitate toward group identification.
This attraction by which we move toward others in a group is our seduction.
Such has cultic implications of "herding" behavior and "group think".
By the superficiality of faith, superficial assumption and superstition, many project their worldview.
In lieu of logic, reason and careful analysis, the many prefer the fictitious over the factual.
Rationality in the vigorous effort to evolve battles the irrationality of the occult.
The word includes the term "cult" in its construction, as being somehow magical and metaphysical.
While reality should be a curative for the foolishness of inferential fallacies, there does not appear to be a massively intensified effort to do so.
Why be smart, when stupid is easier? Why apply critical reasoning when most would rather whine and complain? Why write great philosophical treatises when juvenile pontifications suffice for a public that prefers a "middle-school" mentality? By social fragmentation, collusive corruptions and tyrannical exaggerations, humanity pursues its downward spiral.
Every day the clock of the ticking extinction time bomb clicks onward.
The devolution of the global population marches onward in spite of a few good intentions to reset the time-line.
As people see the agenticity behind conspiracies of UFO and alien probing, the assumed presumption of patternicity unfolds in the schemes to commercialize everything.
With that comes the labored lunacy of confirming every possible bias so that everyone can be safe and secure from everything.
Scary isn't it that the most dangerous thing on the planet walks upright on two legs? Yes, certainly, it's a broad thinly veiled generalization.
Certainly, there are a few, but only a few, who strive to transform themselves.
Some are trying to get off the "grid" so to speak.
Others attempt to work around the clutches of communal conformity.
The fortunate expectation of transference is that the evolving ones will be an example to others of similar thinking.
On the contrary, maybe not, as most people don't evolve.
Have you ever considered that the earth has been here about four billion years? What about humans, hasn't existence been roughly fifty thousand years? Isn't that about the average life span of a species prior to becoming extinct? Haven't ninety-nine percent of all species that ever existed on earth gone the way of extinction? Okay, well you could speculate in divergent directions on that topic.
Regardless of the calamitous probabilities, the headlines herald the latest fad and fashion of celebrity status.
So, who cares? As long as most persons can be satiated in the proclivity of hedonistic "entitlement", then what's the worry? From pundits to politicians, preachers to the bleachers, exploitation is the name of the game.
As humans continue their devolution, tribal complicities stifle creativity by the subversion of extreme ideologies.
In the process, if you want to change, then you have to work hard.
Instead of simply walking upright in the smug piety of self-centered foolishness, you have to labor diligently to be savvy enough to think above and beyond the social psychobabble.
Belief is a challenging prospect, as reality nags the tenacity to prevail above the average, outside the mundane, and without the silliness of childlike behaviors.
But, screams are heard from the fearful masses.
You hear the frightened voices that say, "everyone else does it", while flocks crowd the chutes to be fleeced once again.
Gluttony gambles in the competitiveness of what is not true, because what is true is more difficult to chew.
You are what you reap.
Maturity of personal insight in the quest to be free, and illuminated by cerebral alacrity has a severe price.
Part of the cost factor is separateness, in the individuality of personal freedom.
Who cares what others get, have or want? Liberation desires nothing except the re-creation of a unique individuality.
Mindful nakedness is the bare unabashed pursuit of personal liberation relished the journey of self-revelation.
Perhaps an apt designation would be appropriate, as in the assertion of a "hybridization of thought".
For a species to change, more specifically an individual, that particular person must evolve into something different from the original template.
Some might say that could be a as if one is "born again", yet a different version.
However, all too often the distraction degenerates to the primal node of believing that which is false.
Simplicity in the public forum of social exchanges has become the rule of the game.
Safety, security and trouble-free expectations in so-called modern cultures wants protectiveness versus risk taking.
But, an adventure invites dangers.
And yet, most people don't want dangerous things to worry them.
Instead, they want the government, usually the big governmental entity, to save them from everything.
Keep it simple so that life is trouble free and you can consume as much of the earth's resources without consequences.
The fantasy of the falsehood is the well-insulated lifestyle that has every want and whim potentially within an easy grasp.
At the primordial level of psycho-subsistence, causality is always found in the demons, the ghosts and the goblins.
That way, you don't have to be responsible.
It's not your fault, you can always blame some external deterministic elemental forces.
You know, like the devil.
For the sake of the gods and goddesses of the pantheon of cultic ideologies, simplistic notions suffice the scapegoating of unsophisticated excuses.
As such, individuality is amatively seduced by willful surrender of responsibility so that collective conformity remains secure.
In acquiesce of communal collusion, complicity is found at every level.
Look around at most of the population, listen to the chitchat, and observe the myriad interactions.
What is the scope and depth? Depression, dehumanization, destruction, and death are perpetrated by free will actions every day.
Slavery, for instance, affects thirty or forty million people around the globe.
That figure is based on what at least one international agency assessed in one study.
The numbers could be the tip of the proverbial human iceberg.
Of nearly seven billion people on the planet, resources are nearing exhaustion.
Nonetheless, some have the naïve audacity to suggest humankind is "civilized".
On the other hand, worse yet, we call ourselves a "civilization".
As you stop for a moment and observe the human interactions, or scan the headlines, many want things reduced to the lowest common denominator.
Much of the social interactivity, from community to government, is expected to be simplistic.
By insistence of social collectivity, a majority wants consistent conformity where everything is reduced to an easy to understand formula.
In addition, in the process, the information and consequences are supposed to be trouble free, where everybody is blissfully happy.
Regardless, people remain petty, greedy and self-absorbed.
The militancy by which large numbers profess their faithfulness in things not provable is menacingly as dangerous as ever.
By misinterpretation of metaphorical implication, myth, magic and mystics proliferate and perpetrate a diversity of group interactions.
Today, extremism in the guise of an ideological adherence may not be outside the alleged "mainstream".
Instead, as some consider cultic fascinations as extreme forms of belief, others might prefer to characterize all fixations, involving the paranormal, as being "cultic".
That is, outside the "mainstream" of reason and rationality.
With widespread acceptance of magical thinking in broad diversity, via supernatural, extraterrestrial and paranormal obsessiveness, human species regression may be irreversible.
In short, it is too late to change humanity, as only small pockets of resistance can suffice for the time being.
Stupidity is well accepted.
We have invited our own demise by failing to maximize the utility of our reasoning faculties.
From the fantasies of ideological fanaticism, come the shortcuts to a pretended reality that is underscored by a flirtation with mythic aberrations.
As one finds a particular perspective, others assume that attractive, and in time assemble around that perception.
Eventually, that viewpoint will attempt rise above others, absent any serious evidentiary proof.
For desire of intelligent coherence in assertion of credible authenticity, for any conjecture or claim, is the persistence of the factual nature.
Credibility by an affinity for proofs is crucial.
In most cases, in post-modern associations, the group prefers being right in terms of their feelings, as opposed to be factually correct in their reasoning.
At work in daily societal routines, in one on one encounter, are the many sacred delusions.
Sacred or holy is the basic essence of accepting things based on "faith" and not facts.
It is a reception of nearly anything we encounter on "face value" and fail to investigate further.
Without methodical consideration, many invite the untested and yet to be proved seduction of illogical conclusions.
We assume common sense is easy.
On the contrary, that somehow suggests everyone would have some.
As faith in unseen forces, mystical notions, and spurious doctrines appear stubbornly resistant to factual reality, conviction is no assurance of evidence.
Allegiance to a particular point of view guarantees nothing.
Faithfulness to a particular set of beliefs does not substantiate the substance of anything.
It is a matter of opinion, for which everyone can assert a position of entitlement to have one, or not.
Deeper levels of thought provoking introspection are challenging.
Such energetic efforts require perseverance on multidimensional levels, as in dreams for instance.
Each rising of the prior sleep state, for a morning awakening, should be accompanied by a mirrored examination.
A time of reflection of the self requires critical assessment.
Who is that looking back? What does that face say? Where is the challenge to change, to self-evolve and to eventually transform? Moreover, is that echo authentically transforming and changing the perspective one has in relation to a finite life form? Finality is merely a heartbeat away from the consummation of oblivion and an engulfing darkness.
Since we only get one opportunity to make things work, it ought to be a priority to make the effort count.
Cultic complicities reinforce the naiveté for artless gullibility of those who wish for a consistent simplicity in all things.
The wellspring of hope gushes with excessive wishful feelings for subjective validation in the convenience of cognitive bias.
The pretense to innocence of tolerance for unsophistication in others is an excuse to devolve, degrade and otherwise denature the necessity of growth and maturity.
The world is much more than the reductionist intentions of those inclined hollow one-dimensional answers.
In the shallow collaborative exercise of emotional subjectivity, at the forefront of almost any public debate, is the frequent scarcity of logically rational processes.
Fallacies of inference masquerade in the social marketplace with ruthless appeal to the bias of hasty generalizations.
Foolishness appeals to a wide receptive audience and affronts modern attempts at intellectual stimulation.
While some social discourses are quite benign in their context, others are dangerous where lives are placed in jeopardy.
Perhaps in a contemporary context cultic inclinations, or group affiliations, of any kind should be considered with a healthy sense of rational skepticism.
By this, one could apply a perspective that puts every group under more in depth analysis.
Whether presumed mainstream ideology or not, the serious inquisitor must carefully scrutinize all belief systems cautiously.
This is done to ensure thinking processes remain on a logical stream of elevated consciousness.
And, thereby avoid emotive superficiality.
Emotional reactiveness conveniently supersedes the necessity of facts.
Evidence that is relevant, material and substantially competent, often conflicts with the superficial nature of "group think".
After all, how can you blame, excuse and otherwise abuse others, when facts prove the contrary? Fabrications relative to the reality of cause and effect prefer the hidden forces beyond our "control".
These include aliens, inanimate objects and substances, ghosts and demons, or curses and supernatural beings.
With deterministic factors of "agenticity", and templates of conspiratorial "patternicity", in order to satiate believability, people can invent all kinds of things.
To expound upon the word "cult", it is probably useful to look at an overall reference point in terms of "religious groupings".
Or, perhaps in a broader sense, observe "cohesive ideologies" that express a particular belief system.
While there are many belief systems throughout the world, ideological affiliations can be viewed as acceptable at one of the social spectrum.
At the extreme end of a social continuum, certain sects may be considered potentially detrimental.
Yet, in many respects, a lot of groups, whether benign or malignant, might be said to share many similarities.
Words like sect, faction, party and religious affiliation, ought to be viewed carefully in terms of the belief systems being expressed.
Many questions should provoke a serious inquiry as to one's membership in a particular persuasion.
What elements are present that suggests infringement on personal freedom and liberation? At the moment of speculation about any pretext to personal deliverance from the bondage of an ideology, the energy of that focus buckles in the face of oppressive tenets.
We make our choices for better or for worse.
The primacy of thinking imagines a personal saga of our own design and complexity.
To say that you are free should be tempered by the varied degrees to which one accepts their particular state of existence.
If you were to stop for a moment, take time to observe those around you, then it would appear that everyone is enslaved by something or someone.
In fact, for many of us, our bondage in a finite life is connected to others, things and situations.
People, places and properties of materiality have been allowed to manacle the mindfulness of a quest for self-evolution.
Nonetheless, the seduction is potent by which a post-modern world, filled with the pseudoscience of pop culture, lures rationality to the dark side of emotional fantasies.
The more one flirts with the temptations of egocentric fascinations of feel good simplicity, the less there is of freedom.
Natural beings in a garden of earthly delights, given the brevity of each breath, out to fully explore the salacious intensity of individual bio-sensuality.
Within the psychic framework of every possibility, energies could pursue a higher focus of transforming insight toward greater open-minded maturity.
However, fearfulness in reaction to communal constraints, in conformity to dogmatic oppressiveness, stifles the creativity of human interactions.
We are crippled psychically and mentally by our fear of the power of individual emancipation.
Fear of life chases the fear of death in our devolution.
In view of an alleged "revealed wisdom" by an assumed sage, a person should immediately invoke an intelligent query based on the logical processes of reason.
Skeptical appraisal invites the methodical analysis against the facts in evidence.
Furthermore, an inquirer tests the conjecture in contrast to common sense acceptability.
What is the evidence for the realistic assessment of the truth at hand? From a mythic perspective, suggesting one person has found the ultimate answers, by cosmic infusion, of a notion that should provoke rapid suspicion.
No one has all the answers to the questions that spans the ages of humankind.
In the end, no one ever will.
Nonetheless, for those who are too weak on their own, in their submission to a victimized seduction, they are likely to pursue the fantasy of extraterrestrial intercession.
Gods invented by the human mind come in all sizes and shapes.
Unfortunately, it appears frequently we readily receive things at a very primal level.
At that aspect of thinking, most of us do not delve further into an issue or incident.
We take what we find and run with it.
We assume another person is correct.
On the primitive unevolved side of human nature, people in general seem to accept what they hear without challenge.
Further investigation is limited if utilized at all.
For some, a small portion of mainstream modern culture, one might view such conditions as reflective of a devolving culture that relies too much on the opinion of others.
Reactivity to social issues accepts easy reliance on what someone else might offer as sources of primary data.
From this, the excessive reliance on an alleged authority keeps thinking at a basic level.
No institution or societal setting is immune from people who glory in their pretext to "special knowledge".
Neither socio-economic status nor academic credentials are any guarantee of alleged advanced intelligence, reason or rationality.
In today's sphere of pretense to social progress, a few have concluded that there is a "war" on rationality.
Superstitious fixations with various occult beliefs are as prominent as ever.
And, when someone claims to have evidence to the contrary, many have already made up their minds.
No amount evidence is going to dissuade their point of view.
If so, that kind of reaction to proof or lack of proof can be dangerous.
Non-thinking, or "anti-thinking", whatever you want to call it, is a limited process whereby a trouble free resolution seeks simplicity.
Often, this means an emotionally charged resolution in favor of a hasty generalization.
In order to ensure personal believability in one's own primeval satiation, intellectual capacity is purposely muted.
For many, faith supersedes facts.
Allegiance to a doctrine is the hope that springs onward into an eternity of blissfulness, as each of us dies happily ever after.
Methodical inquiry raises the possibility that what we believe as a group is potentially faulty.
As individual perspectives merge into a consensus of conviction, the probability of psychological error becomes more significant.
Whether "cultic" or "occultic", dogmatic creeds adherent to medieval rituals of "faith", claim the convictions of truth in the 21st century.
A certainty of credence, beyond levels of doubt, should not be considered viable without the efficacy of valid proofs.
Regardless, no matter where you go, you encounter the faithful crowds of believers in one mythology or another.
Individuality directed toward rational transformation seems more relevant than doctrinaire desperation.
Cultic Illusions, from the wellspring of hopefulness in magical thinking, stride to perpetrate the determinism of behavioral excuses.
If there are justifications that serve the purpose of one's particular proclivity, then that stirs the enchantment of self-serving interests.
However, on the other hand, when one looks at another, and does not like what one sees, then suddenly there is the invocation of self-willed accountability.
Nevertheless, wait a second not so fast.
If all things have simple explanations, and thereby invoke the absence of individual responsibility, then how can anyone be accountable for anything? Everything must be possible, right? At one instant, there is the persistence of effortless explanation for everything, particularly those things unknowable.
On another instant, there comes the annoyance of the knowable being accountable.
Yet the myths, the mystic and metaphorical subjectivity of cultic deceptions perpetrate the fallacies from one age to the next.
Seemingly, very little changes, most devolve and enlightenment remains for the few and escapes the many.
From the vantage point of individual liberation, there must be an awakened spiritedness of self-reliance in one's evolving freedom.
Constriction of progressive mature improvement comes at the self-servicing submission to others.
For their "occultic" pretext to knowing certain "truths", conformity of mind conquers uniqueness of individual's personality.
To seek higher ascension of personal introspection, beyond the normal static range of the senses, requires devotion to ongoing transformation.
In this effort, the valiant adventurer must prevail against the confrontations of those less inclined.
From the groups, factions and sects of ideological tyrannies, bravery arrives from him or her who opposes the slavery of unquestioned "sacrificial" dogmatism.
Of these fictions claimed as faithful "facts", pretentious gurus arrogantly accept the scapegoating of ethical responsibility on the part of their adherents.
Acquiescence to totalitarian canonicity of unproved conjecture by many, willfully contrive the destruction of humanity.
The expectation of vicarious deliverance and rapture, from presumptive "leaders" of any ideology, is part of a dangerously devolving psychodynamic process.
Foolishly, for selfish redemptive satiation, many contribute to the "zombification" of a supposedly intelligent species.
One's quest is for the efficacy of authenticity, in self-differentiation, beyond all risks, dangers and costs for the betterment of oneself by exposing untruths, lies and collusive deceptions.
Individuality with creativity is vital.
