If you own an Xbox 360 and play it often, then at one point or another, you might have encountered the dreaded Xbox 360 Flashing Red Light which means that something is wrong with your consul.
These are 3 flashing lights, all in red, as if the consul itself is telling you that it needs attention immediately and that something is wrong with it.
Now, if you are an avid gamer and spend a good amount of your time playing, seeing the rather depressing Xbox 360 Flashing Red Light can become extremely frustrating and annoying.
But before you do anything rash, such as throwing your consul away out of sheer irritation, you should know that there are ways to fix this problem by yourself without the need to send your consul back to the manufacturer to get it fixed.
You do know that returning the consul to them to fix the problem can actually take a lot of time? For them to fix it and send it back to you, it might take weeks.

On your consul, you will find four quadrants which are called "The Ring of Light" or the RoL.
These quadrants surround the power button and acts as the indicator if you're Xbox is functioning just fine.
They would be green if your Xbox is healthy and a fiery red if it isn't.
Now, depending on the light quadrant that turns red, it also indicates what kind of malfunction there is.
Once you see it, stop playing immediately and turn it off.
Basically, you cannot use the consul until you have figured out exactly what might be wrong it.
Basically, if there are 3 red lights it means that there's hardware failure.
But to make sure, check your power supply whilst the consul is on and if the light there is green, this confirms hardware failure as the culprit.
