You probably have seen it said in e-books, articles, etc.
that some article submission sites are good, others are not.
At the same time chances are you do not know what this means and what the scientific reason is for this.
Yes, some sites are visited by a lot of people site and they read the articles and they may get picked up by ezine editors, giving you more exposure, and this is all true.
However that alone does not explain it.
There are certain features that are not advertised and you need to know about how the internet works to really appreciate them.
(This data also will help you tell which article sites are not so good.
) When you search for things on the Internet, you have probably seen that articles from from certain article sites frequently show up in the search results.
You probably wondered why this is.
One trick is that these sites are SEO-friendly.
First, your article title becomes the URL of your article page.
(Check the URL of this page) Why is this important? If a keyword is mentioned in the title and the URL, search engines consider that important when they rank you.
The second thing is that some sites have high page rank (some article directory's main page is PR 6).
This comes from the fact that the site has a lot of incoming links.
Therefore your article page gets a lot of "authority" or "link power", which heavily counts when search engines rank your content.
Also, if you look on the front page, on most sites you can see the "recent articles" category.
This can very easily escape your attention, but it is very important if these recent articles show up on a page that is a page rank 6.
This results in your article getting indexed by the search engines within hours.
You can do a very easy test: go to the "recent articles" page, take an article title from a few hours ago, then search for it in Google with quotes.
The entry will show up in the search results.
This also explains why you do not get much traffic from other article sites: an article submitted to a PR 0 site will not even get indexed.
