Actor politician Raj Babbar's love-child Prateik irked the Babbar household when he decided to drop his last name and be known only as "Prateik". His brother Aarya Babbar lashed out at Prateik for the same and things only became bad to worse in the last few months. Looks like Prateik is unperturbed about how miffed the Babbar khaandan is and has gone a step ahead and asked the PR agency that is promoting his upcoming film "My Friend Pinto", to inform scribes to address him "without" his last name.

The film that is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and UTV Motion Pictures, and directed by Raaghav Dar, is slated to release on October 14.

Prateik lost his mother, the iconic actor Smita Patil, when only sixteen days old. His maternal grandparents, with whom he continues to live, brought him up in his mothers absence. Prateik, having only four scenes in his debut film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (2008), surprised filmgoers and critics when he stole the show from his co-stars. Prateiks next film Dhobi Ghat (2010), directed by Kiran Rao, was considered by some in the commercial industry to be an unusual choice for a lead role. The film premiered at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival to excellent critical reception, culminating in a standing ovation for the young actor. In 2011, Prateik will star in five releases, leading in two. Prateik recently starred in Prakash Jha's Aarakshan which was based on a very sensitive issue of Aarakshan
