Why Did You Begin Blogging:

I'm a stay at home mom who is a former TV news anchor. While staying home with my 10 month old son is rewarding, I still felt like I wasn't using my journalism skills. I want my blog to be a revenue stream and a professional outlet for me in case I return to TV news full-time some day.

My son and all the mysteries of parenting are my inspiration. Shooting Mommy Talk Show also restores the professional relationship that started my personal relationship with my husband. We met while working at the same TV station. He was a photojournalist and I was an anchor/reporter.

Most Rewarding Part of Being a SAHM:

I can be there for every fall, every tear and every accomplishment of my son's life. It also helps reinforce my OCD in terms of his food intake and poop output.

Biggest Challenge You Face as a SAHM:

I never have enough time to blog. My son is clingy. My husband works nights and then sleeps late in the morning. Sometimes I allow my son to crawl into the bed when my husband is sleeping at around 5 a.m. just to give my husband a dose of my life.

Best Advice for Other Stay-at-Home Moms:

Find supportive moms. Read mommy blogs. Go in the bathroom alone and have a 5 minute "breather" just so you can get centered.

Repurpose your old professional skills. That's what I'm doing by doing mommy-centered video interviews and a talk show.
