When you're just starting out on your farm, you won't have any choice but to manually plant and harvest your farm.

Your gas tank will refill on it's own after a certain amount of time, but that means you won't have access to that equipment while it's refueling and that can be a real problem if you have land that needs to be plowed or crops that need to be planted or harvested.
