I have to confess that the title of this article is something that really pertains to me, so I'm sure it will be of benefit to many others out there as well! Being a busy CEO is just not a good enough excuse for me not to be out there creating video content for my business.
What is even more ironic is that I help clients do this all the time, yet it is something that I can never find time to do for myself! Perhaps I should outsource the video aspects of my marketing to...

I wanted to write this article because I was talking to a client recently about their viral video campaign and thought, "Hey, I haven't written about the importance of online video marketing yet.
" So, here are some quick and easy to apply tips to jump-start your video marketing campaign! As you know, part of our web 2.
0 world is using social media sites to connect with your prospects in a real way.
Video (and audio for that matter) take this relationship, or build this relationship, to an entirely different plain.
They can hear you, see you and truly experience you in a "human" way.
This is the true draw and what makes video content go viral so quickly.
Besides time (which is mine), the huge stumbling block for many is the fact that slick promotional videos cost lots of money, and budgets today don't allow for this.
What if I told you the whole thing could be done for under $150 with three items: a Flip! digital video camera, a YouTube account and video editing software (which many times comes pre-installed on your computer)? In the traditional marketing world this is absolute blasphemy.
"Why do I want my promotional business video look like my wedding in 1987 that Uncle Ted took with his handheld video camera?" Good point, but the focus is not about giving Spielberg a run for his money, it is more about having a quick chat with your audience or showing a new trick or tip that will help their business grow (oh yeah, and positioning yourself as an expert).
So what is the content of the video? Up to you! Some people do introductory videos on the company and services, some do vlogs (which are video blogs), some create amazingly funny viral videos and loads more.
Just make sure that the subject matter is tied into the message of your business - this is a crucial point.
The only exception to this is if you create something absolutely hysterical that everyone picks up on worldwide.
But, sorry to say that this is rare.
Then share the hell out of it! Blog, website, social media sites, the lot.
Use your video as an incentive tool on an email blast, spread it through word-of-mouth...
there are loads of different ways to use video, and they only serve the purpose of getting your target market to learn more about you, elevate your profile and build your credibility.
Direct them to your website, pitch the new service you have...
the power of video is endless.
No reading, quick and easy to understand, plus you are getting the terrific opportunity of speaking directly to your customer.
