What is Data Migration? This is very exciting job to upgrade a computer system from its current condition to a better and faster system. This is not any excitement when you think about the data you have in your old computer. It depends on what files you store on your computer, but 2-3 years worth of mp3s, videos, photos, movies, chat is not so easy to let go. Somehow there is an attachment to this issue, we carefully recorded gradually, one by one. It's a good thing that it is possible to transfer data from one store to another.

Data migration is a process of transferring old data, from one room to another. It can be because you purchased a new computer and you will be donating the old one and you still need the files and want to save it. It's also possible that your computer got infected with a virus or spyware where you want to erase everything first then restore the data later on, or maybe you want to eliminate your desktop completely and just use your laptop. Before starting the data transfer, check all the files you have and put them in the group. This will assure that you will not be saving junk files that you don't really need at all. It will help if you create separate folder and label them like music, photos, videos, movies, documents, etc. After sorting and labeling the files, you also have an option to compress the files. One way is to save it as a zip file. This is only recommended for files that you will not open or use that often, perhaps old photos and videos. This simple process will let you save precious hard disk space.

There are different ways to migrate data. There is the manual method allows you to connect and configure a second hard drive or storage on your computer and then do the manual transfer from there by simply copying and pasting files and folders. Normally you just click and select all files and folders that you need or specify the drive that you want to copy and it will do it automatically. The possibility to transfer data from one storage to another assures us that we can hang on to those important data and files that we have provided that we save them properly. Prevention is better than cure so you should always backup and save your files just to be on the safer side.
