The bond between a mother and child is precious; however, when you are doing it alone, it can be overwhelming at times: Especially, if you have a young baby.
I have some tips for you on how to overcome some of the challenges of being a single mom and parenting on your own.
Tip #1 - if your baby is young enough; a snuggly is your best friend! You can clean, cook, dance and sing with your little one and get things done around the house while bonding with your child.
You can educate and teach him/her about foods, dishes and things around the house while you are getting things done! Stand in front of a mirror and dance, sing and make faces and your little baby will love you more for it and have a great time while you're doing it.
You can make it fun for your child and yourself and your cooking and cleaning will also be in top order! Tip #2 - Take time for yourself! If your family or friends are offering to watch your little one, let them! You need some time to yourself to recharge, relax and maybe do nothing! It takes a lot of energy to keep up with your children/child and when you are doing it by yourself you need to be sure you have that energy! Tip#3 - Make sure you child has a good bed time, putting your child to bed too late does not mean they will sleep later.
A good timeframe to use is: Newborn to 2 months: 8:00pm - 9:00 pm 3-6 months - 7:00pm - 8:00 pm 7-12 months 6:30-7:30 One year to adolescence 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm If you follow these guidelines you will have a few hours every night to yourself to do what you enjoy: Whether that is watch T.

Whatever you enjoy having a few hours every night to unwind and enjoy your hobbies will make you a happier and better mom! If you put to use these three simple tips they will help you with the challenges of being a single mom.
Remember a snuggly (or sling) is one of the best investments you can make, take others up on their offers to watch your little one, and make sure you child is not going to bed too late.
These tips will give you some extra and well needed time.
After all, when the mom is happy - the family is happy!
