Port Canaveral, located on central Florida's Atlantic coastline, is one of Florida's most diverse deepwater ports, with service to fishermen, cruise lines, cargo ships, the U.S. space program and of course recreational areas. Three neighboring beaches provide an opportunity to swim, launch a boat or catch and clean fish. - Whether you want to try swim, fish or surfing in the Atlantic, Jetty Park's lifeguards will be there,as they are on duty year round. You can fish from the pier or just enjoy the boardwalk. Campgrounds allow visitors to reserve camp sites for tents, campers or RVs. Located on the east side of Port Canarveral, 1.3 miles from the South Cruise Terminals entrance on George King Blvd, Jetty Park is convenient for cruisers and locals alike.
- Water sports enthusiasts can launch boats at Freddie Patrick Park's docks on the south side of the port. The boat launches can be used free of charge, as can the rest of the facilities, which include restrooms, fish cleaning tables and a picnic area. Camping is not allowed.
- You can also launch your boat, free of charge, from the west end of Port Canaveral at Rodney S. Ketcham Park. An observation deck, picnic facilities and fishing opportunities are also available at this four-acre beachfront park. Watch for exotic birds along this stop on the Great Florida Birding Trail. Camping is not permitted in the park.
