Individual Grants

    • An individual grant is a grant given to a person who needs money for education, housing or other personal needs. A grant is free money that a person does not have to pay back, unlike loans which are borrowed money. Individual grants are obtained when the government sees fit to fund an individual. Governments of the United States and Canada both offer such grants.

    Self-Sufficiency Grants

    • Self-Sufficiency Grants are given to people of very low income. They are used for expenses in a household that a person typically would not prepare for, such as a fire or flood. Any qualified individual living in the United States or Canada may apply for a Self-Sufficiency grant.

    Independent Living Grants

    • Independent Living Grants are typically provided for people with a disability. The grant will pay a creditor who will then pay the person's bills. This grant is available for people who have low income and are unable to work because of a disability. The goal of this grant is to help financially responsible people who cannot work to continue living independently on their limited incomes.

    New Employment Grant

    • New Employment Grants work by paying for the expenses a person may rack up while trying to find new employment. The goal of this grant is to provide willing but temporarily unemployed people with the means to return to work. The New Employment Grant will also pay for small fees, such as gas costs and clothing for job interviews. Any qualified individual living in the United States or Canada may apply for a New Employment Grant.
