You may have decided to start your own online business. If so, congratulations! You have begun a journey that is very exciting and rewarding. But building an online business is more than just buy a domain name, setting up a hosting account and creating the website for it. A successful business, regardless of model, needs to be marketed properly.

There are many many different options for marketing your business. And as a new business owner, it is easy to become overwhelmed with the myriad of different methods out there. For instance there is article marketing, video marketing, pay-per click, banner ads, ezine or solo ads, co-op advertising, social networking (using sites like Facebook or MySpace), email marketing, and on and on.

But what if you wanted to market offline? Well, then you've got classified ads, business cards, busienss presentations, tv spots, radio commercials and so forth.
The key is not be get into analysis paralysis by researching every possible option and thereby accomplishing nothing. If you are a marketer just starting out, odds are you don't have the budget for radio commercials or classified ads in the paper.

You might consider instead, doing article marketing, setting up a blog and using Facebook to help drive traffic. The traffic would come from Facebook and your articles and the blog will help build you as a credible authority in your chosen industry. From there, prospective customers would go to a squeeze page where you could offer them a free gift in exchange for their email.

Once this has happened you simple send out an email (via auto responder) to your list with tips they would find useful. Over time not only will your list grow, so will your sales. You can then look into paid forms of advertising such as solo ads, and pay-per click to further increase your exposure and increase your traffic quickly.
