  Cool new graphic tools hit the market every day, allowing a user to paint directly on or even talk to his computer. No longer painting on canvas (and carpeting and walls), cool digital art tools also allow kids to freely express themselves while keeping the house clean.
  
  

Kids' Tools

• The Digital Arts & Crafts studio, offered by Fisher Price, allows kids to use a computer as an art studio. The kit consists of a base and a stylus that can transform movements into lines, brush strokes or stamps. Additionally, the program that comes with the Digital Arts & Crafts studio contains templates for paper airplanes, party hats and coloring books. With the accompanying program, pictures can be uploaded into the computer and kids can use the kit tools to draw directly on to the pictures.
  
  

Bamboo Craft

• Offered by Corel, the makers of Corel Draw, and designed by Wacom, the graphic design tool called "Bamboo Craft" allows graphic artists the ability to draw on and edit photographs and artwork. The Bamboo Craft is specifically tailored to the needs of craft-making, such as scrapbooking, and advances crafting into digital medium. Inside the Bamboo Craft kit are two different pad sensors, a pressure-sensitive pen and computer connections. The kit also comes with Photoshop Elements and Corel Painter software, a year subscription to Scrapbooking and Beyond magazine and online training.
  
  

Cintiq 21UX

• The Cintiq 21UX, offered by Wacom, allows a user the ability to draw directly onto her 21.3" monitor with a special, pressure-sensitive pen. The Cintiq 21UX detects 2048 levels of pressure, according to the Wacom website, and has left- and right-click buttons directly on the pen. Other than the basic pen offered with the monitor, Wacom offers pens that simulate paint- and airbrushes. The Cintiq screen also reclines to allow users the ability to draw on a flat, rather than upright surface, which artists familiar with desktop art will find useful.
