September Aloha Festivals at the Embassy Suites Waikiki

September is one of the most exciting months in Waikiki. One of the biggest highlights of the month is the Aloha Festivals. Honolulu's Aloha Festivals is the largest Hawaiian cultural celebration in the United States. What is known today as Aloha Festivals was created in 1946, as Aloha Week - a cultural celebration of Hawaiian music, dance and history intended to perpetuate Hawaii's unique traditions. Aloha Week became Aloha Festivals in 1991.

The Royal Court is a replication of the Royal Monarchy based in the kingdom of old Hawaii, and has played an essential role in all Aloha Festivals events since its inception.

This year Aloha Festivals Royal Court is going to visit Embassy Suites Waikiki on Friday, September 19. The Royal Court including the king, queen, prince, & princess will visit Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk as a special event for their guests.

Guests will be able to enjoy a traditional ceremony along with live entertainment including Hawaiian music and Hula dancers. At the ceremony the Ali€i court members will receive the royal cloak, helmet, head feather lei and other symbols of their reign.€€Traditional chant and hula mark the official beginning of the Aloha Festivals events. The Aloha Festivals Royal Court will be introduced on the grounds of Helumoa, originally the home Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop and where she created the trust that supports Kamehameha Schools.

Aloha Festivals also include several other events, one of them is Floral Parade.
A colorful equestrian procession of pau (long-skirted) riders, exquisite floats with cascades of Hawaiian flowers, hula halau, marching bands and dignitaries will enliven Kalakaua Avenue. Visitors from all over the world come to Waikiki to enjoy this spectacular show with beauty, joy and many laughs in the air.

Also, if you are in Honolulu on September 27th, visit 16th annual Love Festival Hawaii 2014. This festival is recognized as the largest electronic dance music event in the State of Hawaii with over 10,000 people usually attending the event. The Love Festival Hawaii will showcase DJ talent, musicians, and other performers from around the world on multiple stages.

The Love festival is best described as a spectacular show with high-tech multi-media presentations, large format videos, light displays, performance art, and electronic dance music. The event will have one main stage and four smaller satellite stages, each with its unique program and performers. There will be an abundance of additional lighting on site with special effects and a large format video.

Usually over 10,000 people visit this festival. The event is not only popular with the people of Hawaii, as it has become a destination event, attracting U.S. mainland and international visitors. Besides Hawaii, The Love Festival also takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada; various cities in California; Miami, Florida; various cities in Mexico; Rio De Janeiro, Brazil; as well as Phoenix, Arizona.

Another extremely fun event for the whole family is The Annual Honolulu Century Ride that takes place on Sunday, September 28, 2014. Established in 1981, the Honolulu Century Ride is the largest cycling event in Hawaii. Attracting over 2,000 participants in 8 nations, this family-friendly ride begins and ends at Kapiolani Park and offers riders routes of 20, 25, 40, 50, 75 or 100 miles. The course winds through beautiful scenic portions of East Honolulu and the Windward Coast.

The Honolulu Century Ride is not a race, so bicyclists are encouraged to take the course at their own pace. It is a fun and unforgettable event for the whole family!
