If you just turned on your beloved Xbox 360 to discover that it is apparently suffering from an E68 error, then read on to find out what that means and what you can do about it.
This error is usually caused by something going wrong with your hard drive.
A good way to find out if this is the problem is to turn the console off, take the hard drive out and then see if your Xbox runs properly.
Clearing the hard drive's cache can also solve the problem.
In order to do this you have to press various buttons, but don't worry that your saved games will be deleted.
This will remove any updates you have made when you put a disc in and the console told you it had to make an update.
However, this will happen automatically the next time you play that game.
So, go to the system blade and select memory.
Then press Y on the "HD" symbol, then X, X, left bumper, right bumper, X, X.
At this point a blade will appear on the right and will ask you to confirm that you do want to clear the cache.
Select confirm.
After this you should restart the Xbox and see if the problem is sorted.
If not, the console will need to be fixed.
You can either send it to Texas and have Microsoft work on it for a few weeks or you can fix it yourself.
