Establishing "Rituals" To Boost Your Productivity
Back in the days, when Christopher Columbus discovered North America, the lands were occupied by the native Indians.
Columbus noticed that they were using rituals to heal themselves and create a connection to the "spiritual world.
" These rituals were simply routines or ceremonies that served a specific purpose.
Today, the modern understanding of rituals are habits.
Almost 90% of what we do is based on unconscious automatic behavior.
Some people deny this fact, because somehow to do the same things regularly seem quite boring.
Living in a denial can "miss the boat" to learn new things and expand our awareness.
Rituals are based on automatic behaviors where their origin lie within our autonomic nervous system.
Everything we do over time falls back into established patterns and routines.
When we do unproductive activities within your business, we tend to repeat the same process over and over again.
All this may happen below our radar, because they are unconscious.
In order for us to be more productive without thinking about it, we need to establish rituals that are going to boost our productivity.
What's the key to high performance? It's definitely not conscious awareness over certain tasks we perform.
We tend to move quicker when we have an established pattern.
That's because of the neural connections in our brain.
As we use the same neuron twice, it straightens.
The more we do productive activities, the easier it gets over time.
That's the line between the comfort and discomfort.
How do you know what's productive and what's not? Things, tasks or activities that have a low impact on your long-term goals are unproductive.
Rituals can be used in your personal life as well, not just business.
In fact, the way you take care of yourself determines your performance within your business.
This includes the food you eat, the beverages you drink, the physical exercises you perform to tune your body, and the relationships you have with others to renew your emotional system.
They are all directly related to your performance within your business.
Rituals, on the other hand, fuel this process, and make it automatic.
High performers who are naturally good at something have no idea why they are high achievers.
That's because they do productive things that are below their conscious awareness.
You can do this too, but you have to establish a conscious ritual first, in order to make it unconscious.
It all comes down to practice and repetition over a certain period of time.
Here's my morning ritual for optimal performance throughout the day: 8:30am - as soon as I wake up, I drink half liter of water.
8:35am - brush teeth, floss, and use tongue scraper.
8:45am - 30 minute workout, it may be running outside, strength training or whatever makes the body move.
9:15am - taking a shower for 10 minutes.
9:25am - breakfast (350-450 calories).
9:40am - begin to work for one hour of uninterrupted time.
10:40am - time for a break 11:00am - work for another hour of uninterrupted time.
12:00pm - launch (400-500 calories).
Most people start with the work right up front, or checking emails, as soon as they wake up.
Please do not do this.
Take care of yourself first, and you'll see better performance at your work, guaranteed!
