Social interaction is like performing in a movie scene. You think of your environment you are in as your movie scene and you perform in it.
Now what should you do in an different place and don't know how to perform socially (script-less shall we say)?
Watching a movie, notice how life always seems so much more engaging with the exaggeration Hollywood place on it?
Leave it to some of those great screenwriters?
Seems like screenwriters know a lot about social dynamics interaction, social psychology, human behavior and how people act and how the other person will react in response to that stimulus.
I highly recommend anybody to get involved in learning screenplays because you can learn a lot about structure of human interactions and some great human responses,
Pay attention to characters in movies that can be everyday people and how they see the world.
Watching comedy shows, especially sit-coms, you can learn a lot about humor, and why it is funny and why people laugh, but importantly, take notice of the character that is causing the most humor. Notice his characterization, the way he acts and his delivery.
And as much as we all hate them, you can learn a lot from watching reality shows. I don't mean those lame game shows where the government taxes almost all your winning money, but where people are constantly interacting with each other, and be aware of the change of the dynamics when alliances are built and backstabbers come out; take notes of those kinds of people and what motivates them and their personality. As you know you what they say, to get somebody to express how they truly feel about you, get them drunk and let them start talking about you when you are not in their presence.
Getting involved in theater and acting, especially improvisation, which I can't recommend enough are the most valuable things you can get involved in. They are like practicing social dynamics interaction in a dojo freely without any sort of consequences contrasted to if you were out in the real world.
Bear in mind you are an all-around actor, and whatever environment you're in, become that ideal character for it who will handle it effectively.
