How Can I Reverse a Wii Update?
- 1). Format the SD card on your computer by going to "My Computer," right-clicking on the SD card and selecting "Format." Click the "Quick Format" option and wait for the progress bar to completely fill.
- 2). Download the "HackMii" and "BannerBomb" installation files from WiiBrew.org. These files enable you to install the Homebrew Channel, which will give you access to a collection of system tools and applications---including those necessary to reverse a Wii update.
- 3). Click and drag the downloaded files onto the root of the SD card. The root of the SD card is simply the main section of the card (that is, do not create any folders on the card).
- 4). Remove the SD card from the computer and insert it into your Wii.
- 5). Turn the Nintendo Wii on and use the Wii Remote to select the SD card channel at the bottom of the screen. Wait for the Wii to load the contents of the card.
- 6). Click on the "Yes" button when a pop-up message appears. The HackMii installation program will load onto the screen. The HackMii installation program is used to install the Homebrew Channel.
- 7). Use the Wii remote to select "No" to every installation option except the "Homebrew Channel."
- 8). Press the "B" trigger button on the Wii remote to proceed with the "Homebrew Channel" installation. Wait for the installation to complete. The Wii will automatically restart.
- 9). Point and click the Wii remote on the "Homebrew Channel" icon in the main Wii menu. Once the channel loads, use the remote to select the "Homebrew Browser."

Select the "Utilities" option within the "Homebrew Browser" menu. Use the Wii Remote's D-pad to scroll through the different applications until you find the "Wii System Downloader." Click on the "Download" icon and wait for the download to complete. - 11
Exit the "Homebrew Browser" and go back to the main menu of the "Homebrew Channel." Select the "Wii System Downloader" application and run the program. - 12
Select a previous Wii System menu and press "A" to confirm. Watch the progress bar as the new system downloads and installs. - 13
Restart the Wii when the system download is complete. The update is now reversed.
