How to Make Homemade Baby Food Kits
- 1). Make sure your pediatrician agrees that your baby is ready for solid food. In general, the recommendation is between four and six months old for rice cereal, with fruits and vegetables being okay after six to eight months.
- 2). Cook the food. This can be done by steaming, boiling, microwaving, baking, or any other method you like.
- 3). Wait for the food to cool after you finish cooking it. If any liquid is left from cooking, save it to serve as a base for blending.
- 4). Add the food and the remaining cooking liquid to the blender. Add water if you do not have any additional cooking liquid. Puree the food.
- 5). Pour the food from the blender into ice cube trays, resealable freezer bags or freezer-safe plastic food storage containers.
- 6). Thaw the food. As the food is already cooked and blended, you can feed it to your baby as is.
