I know that my dog Romo always seems to chew on the cords to everything.
One day it is my PS3, the next my computer cord, the next day it is my phone cord.

When you leave for work your buddy does not have anyone there to play with, so he gets board really easy when he is alone.
If you just got a dog and he is still a pup, he is just chewing up your stuff because it is something new to them.
If you see that your dog is getting into everything when you are a home, play with him he probably wants your attention.
I also found out that dogs get a little nervous and when they start to get nervous they chew on things.
So it might be a good idea to see if this happens and try and keep your dog calm.
So it all boils down to training.
If you give your dog the right skills and teach him not to chew then he will get out of the habit of chewing everything up.
If you see that the training is not working have patience, sometimes it takes a little longer for dogs to get it them others.
But do not hit your dog, if he sill chews up stuff stay calm and keep working with him he will get it.
If you start to get annoyed and hit or yell at your dog you will only prolong the problem.
The last thing you want is for it to take longer to teach your dog to stop chewing.
