How to Eliminate a Spyware Alert Icon
- 1). Press the "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Delete" keys simultaneously to access the Task Manager. The Task Manager lists the applications that are currently running on your computer.
- 2). Select the application associated with scareware -- the one with the phony spyware alert. Wait a few seconds for a medium-sized box to emerge.
- 3). Click on "End Task," which is located near the bottom of the box.
- 4). Click "OK" when another box emerges, which asks you to confirm the application's termination.
