It's as clear as the beautiful Caribbean Sea that times as we knew them have changed dramatically over the last several years. There's a new economy. The problem is that the majority of people don't realize it.

Are you prepared to thrive and not just survive in this new economy?

Better yet, are you actually taking part in the movement or are you on the sidelines waiting it out? I'm going to keep it real with you€¦the (old) economy that we once knew is not in the process of bouncing back. Once you acknowledge this, you can embrace our new economy.

What is it you might be asking? The new economy isn't just some buzzword, it's a reality. The dated perspective is that it is the shift from a manufacturing to service-based economy. That's not what I am talking about; I mean technology is changing the game.

Technological advances are the driving force of our new economy and will mean that fewer people are needed to do the work as efficiencies rise - now is the time to position yourself so that you are not a part of the next generation rat race where more people are competing for fewer jobs.

Let me tell you what I mean by positioning yourself in the new economy€¦

I remember in business school, my Econ Professor Dr. Carter gave me the ah ha on it. It was 2008 and after me and most of my classmates left our initial careers to go back to school full time, it was announced that we were officially in a recession. We were stressed to the max about our futures.

Anyhow, Dr. Carter broke it down. He is a real PhD, the kind that most people don't understand because his IQ is off the reciter (Einstein-ish), so I appreciated any nuggets that I could actually grasp and remember this lesson particularly because of the times:

- The economy operates in cycles.
- There are and have always been periods of growth and contraction (recession, some obviously worse than others).
- What you want to make sure is that you are positioned to ride the wave from the bottom to the top.

It sounds simple enough, but in reality, you have to be aware of what's going on and take action, which can be difficult to do when you are still taken aback by the drastic changes that have unfolded. Change in any environment has a tendency to invoke fear, because it is uncomfortable. Here lies your problem.

Friend, I'm here to let you know that there isn't any reason to panic. Change is good. In order for you to live a NON-MEDIOCRE life (aka your destiny), you have to get uncomfortable.

Those who recognize what is going on are coming up right now, as they embrace the discomfort, riding the new economy wave. We know that history repeats itself€¦

- FACT: More millionaires were created as a result of the Great Depression than in any other period in American history
- What do you think is going on right now???
- Entrepreneurship IS your answer.

Take my friend and business partner Adrian Hines as an example of what I mean.

He just shared on our teams mid-day motivational call that after quitting his job last September to work our business full time, that company recently eliminated his former position (old economy job!).

If you are in an old economy job, you have to find something new in order to thrive, maybe even survive!

I expose this truth because I believe that the Internet Marketing industry (new economy) is the best way to do it. I'm not just pointing out problems here, without sharing the best solution that I can! Adrian and I both use this to be free today as entrepreneurs!!!
