Repairing Credit After Foreclosure

for anyone who is dealing with the hardship these tough economic times have brought on, you're not alone.
Right now I drive down my street and I can't help but see over a dozen for sale or foreclosure signs in front of houses.
One of my closest and oldest friends just went through the foreclosure process and trust me its not fun.
You are basically living in a house you bought, but it's not your anymore, waiting for the bank to tell you its time to leave.
For them the process took 8 months, I know some people who have been living at their house for over a year, but they know at any time they could get that phone call or knock on the door and have to leave.
I hope I never have to go through that.
What makes matters worse is that they were being denied on applications for several apartments.
They could afford to live there, but because of the foreclosure their credit was shot.
So every time the filed an application, they were denied.
These places didn't care if they were making enough money, that one blemish is what cost them.
So they started the process of trying to rebuild their credit once they found a place that would allow them to move in.
They started with it the simple way, get the credit cards paid off first, but not all at once, make sure everything is paid on time, no late charges, and pay a little more than the amount do.
Well that's easy for some, harder for others.
They did it, and after a year they were debt free, but when they tried to finance a car, they were rejected.
Apparently even though they had not been late on a single bill in over a year, that foreclosure was still all anyone could see.
So the simple credit repair tactics were not working, and they sought out a better approach.
They used a credit repair company, and in less than 6 months they were able to buy a car.
The process was simple, and inexpensive, I would advice anyone to look into it after they deal with foreclosure.
