Through the astounding power of staying positive Douglass educated himself to read and write and eventually became the head of the abolitionist cause in the US, leading tens of thousands of people within the USA in the face of having no official schooling whatsoever!

The power of positive thinking is greater than a strategy for succeeding. It is a way of being that affects everyone near you from your spouse to each person that you interact with during the day. Thinking positively strengthens your health by lessoning stress, increases the likelihood that you will be victorious in all of your undertakings, and endears people to you in a way that no other outlook can.
Think about this until you go to sleep and try to envisage ways that may increase your positive attitude. If you've had an arduous experience or are depressed, it won't all happen overnight. But even spending 15 minutes every single day thinking positive thoughts will make a big difference, and get you going in the correct direction.

If you can't think of any of these memories perhaps you could imagine what it would feel like to achieve some aspiration that you may have and take small steps to move in that direction. The point is to give it a try, and to start small if that is necessary. But never give up, because life is short and in the end your chances will run out to revolutionize your attitude.
