How to Heat Basalt Stones at Home
- 1). Cover the bottom of a roaster oven with a white hand towel.
- 2). Fill the roasting oven 2/3 full with water.
- 3). Arrange a single layer of stones onto the white hand towel. There should be space enough between the stones to allow easy access to each.
- 4). Plug the unit in, cover it with the lid and set the unit to 120 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 5). Allow the stones to heat for 15 minutes.
- 6). Remove the lid and check the water temperature with a thermometer. Ideally, the temperature should be anywhere from 120 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. If this temperature is not reached, heat the stones in five-minute increments until this temperature range has been achieved.
- 7). Remove the stones with a slotted spoon or rubber gloves.
