The worst thing you can do right now is sit on the sidelines and wait to see what happens.
Our new president has recently demonstrated some very creative thinking, and has proposed a strategy to help correct the financial morass that we are presently in.
Of course not every member of Congress necessarily agrees with the new president-elect, or even wants to see him succeed.
So when his proposal goes to the floor of Congress and is subjected to the endless debate and filibusters that our congressional leaders are so proud of, who knows when and even if we'll see any benefits from his plans.
The scary thing is that the recession is already upon us.
Labor Department statistics show that in November of 2008, half a million jobs were lost as companies prepare for the oncoming recession.
The $700 billion bailout of Wall Street, the $50 billion request from the Big Three auto manufactures, and the never-ending stream of investment banks and insurance companies either going bankrupt or reengineering themselves are now old news.
Things are bleak, and the experts seem to all agree that they're going to get much worse before they get any better.
Surprisingly, many people feeling the pinch of these recessionary times have already been feeling the strain for extended periods and now see nothing different in their situation.
These folks seem to accept their station in life, and the fact that there is usually more month left at the end of the money.
They're working long hours, have virtually no job security, see their family rarely because of their work schedule, and yet they continue in the same mode, pursuing ambiguous goals, without much enjoyment in their lives.
If you find yourself in this situation, it might be time to change.
More millionaires are created in a recession than at any other time in the economic cycle.
There are opportunities out there, if you know what you're looking for and how to take advantage of them.
In these turbulent economic times, a restlessness with one's station in life is not only desirable, it's highly advisable.
It's not a matter of simply planning how to deal with coming recession.
It's a matter of knowing how to achieve massive success during this global economic downturn.
No, it's certainly not easy, but it certainly can be done.
It starts with making a commitment to change your life, and to prepare as best you can for the coming hard times.
Use the Internet as a tool to find an opportunity that will carry you to the financial future that you deserve.
