    Engines

    • The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro is available in six trims. Three of the six, the LS, 1LT and 2LT, have 3.6 liter, six-cylinder engines that deliver 312 horsepower at 6,400 revolutions per minute, rpms. The 3.6L engine has a displacement of 217 cubic inches. The other two trims, the 1SS and the 2SS, have 6.2L, eight cylinder engines that deliver 426 horsepower at 5,900 rpm. The 6.2L engine displacement is 376 cubic inches. The smaller engine has a torque of 278 at 5,700 rpm, while the 6.2L engine has a torque of 420 at 4,600 rpm.

    Transmission

    • All trims of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro offer consumers standard manual transmissions. According to Edmunds, a six-speed automatic transmission is an available option.

    Braking System

    • All trims of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro stop on four-wheel disc brakes operating on an anti-lock braking system.

    Dimensions

    • The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro is a four-seater that is 75.5 inches wide, 190.4 inches long and 54.2 inches tall. Its front tread width is 63.7 inches, but the width of the rear wheels differs according to trim. On the LS and LT trims, the rear tread width spans 64.1 inches and on the SS trims, it is 63.7 inches across. From the side, the wheelbase on all the trims is 112.3 inches wide. Back-seat passengers have almost as much head room as front sitters, at a ratio of 37.4 to 35.3 inches.     • Despite the 114 horsepower delivery difference between the 2011 Camaro's 3.6L engine and its 6.2L engine, they both offer almost equally comparable fuel economy when driven in the city. The 3.6L engine city to highway fuel economy ratio is 17 to 28 miles per gallon, and the 6.2L engine has a city to highway ratio of 16 to 24 mpg. The fuel tank has a capacity of 19 gallons.
