Corporate Governance - Bridging the Gap Between Transparency and Corruption
, pertaining to Government organizations.
The government has put in place such an act so that it can regulate its own machinery and make it corruption free and efficient.
The RIA is an excellent mechanism for both the citizens and the lawmakers.
It creates a free world devoid of corruption.
Now the next logical step is to unite private agencies and companies also in the campaign to free the world from corruption.
In the corporate sector there is no transparency.
Mostly decisions are taken based on the influences of the Hierarchy and not on the market or the choices of the persons who are employed in the organization.
Due to this there are management practices which are detrimental to the efficient working of the organization.
Moreover there are people who are employed as line managers who form the hierarchy of a company.
The hierarchy is usually unproductive and also demands a lot of rules and regulations in their favor such as comforts of housing, high salaries etc.
, In order to fulfill these needs the business has to borrow the required money from the customer.
Management practices have to be brought under the scanner of some regulating authority.
In the Indian corporate scenario there is nontransparent employee recognition, hiring and terminations.
The persons who are most skillful do not succeed as opposed to persons who have the well wishes from the management.
Those who do not get favors from the management are blamed for faults they do not commit.
It is obvious that transparency to identify corrupt management practices is quashed in favor of authority.
There is a lot of fraud committed under the fake stamp of authority.
This cannot go on forever as the people who are quiet now will revolt.
So far the scape goats or those vindicated by nontransparent actions of the line managers have kept a quiet profile.
This will not go on endlessly.
In order to revive the human spirit we require an interim agency that offers a free trial to all those employed in Private companies and who need to seek grievances.
Doing this will ensure that anti corruption measures will clean up the corporate machinery that is bitten by the misuse of authority.
The workings of an organization will improve and become better only if transparency and fairness is restored.
Else all those who seek genuine career progression will become inclined to "appease the boss" rather than contribute strongly to the cause of humanity.
