Rex asks Jen to tell him how she really feels. She says that she doesn't know what's going to happen, but he tells her that he's in no hurry. She says that there's always a bunch of girls throwing themselves at him, so why would he want her? He tells her that all those other girls want something else that they can get out of him. He says that he wants to give her things. "What do you need?" he asks.

She says, "I need you."

Viki tells Joey that she's worried about Natalie spending Christmas without Cris. Joey tells her that Nat is like the delphinium that Viki gave to her--it's something so beautiful that made it through the harsh winter. Nat will make it too. Asa and Kevin arrive, and Asa tells Viki that Kelly is doing a great job with the lost boy, and he can't wait till she has her own baby. Kevin says that the boy helped him with an important decision, and he wants Viki to be the first to hear. He says that he's going to allow more funding for homeless women and children. Meanwhile, at Asa's, Kelly prays for the boy's safety, and she prays for her own peace because she feels really lost.

John returns to Rodi's with a Santa bag. He dumps a load of fruitcakes on a table, and Nat and Jessica laugh. As Jessica leaves, she tells them to enjoy their fruitcake.

Al tells Marcie that she makes him a better person. As they lean in for another kiss, the clock turns midnight, and she pulls away before their lips meet.

"What are you doing?" she asks him. She tells him that she needs to leave. He follows her, but he runs into Luna who tells him that Marcie won't remember anything that happened. Later, Marcie returns looking for a tape to play because the station manager said that dead air will play if she doesn't find it. Al says that her voice is so beautiful she doesn't need a tape. They sit together as she sings Silent Night. She doesn't remember their earlier encounter.

Rex holds a clothed Jen as she sleeps. Daniel and Lindsay share a kiss. Walker and Blair pass under mistletoe as they leave Viki's, and he pulls her into a kiss to which she willingly responds. Kevin watches them. At Rodi's, Nat makes a great pool shot, and her high five with John slightly turns into a handhold from which she quickly pulls away. At Viki's the family huddles together in a big embrace.
