A Second Look at Noise Issues With a Popular Room Air Purifier
Many readers of my blog or articles know that I am admirer of American made products generally. It was the fact of Made in the USA, that got me interested in focusing on Vornado. Now the task is full blast talking about every aspect of Vornado AQS.
Previously, I'd owned a Vornado space heater for years. The thing was reliable, great looking and did one heck of a job. If it didn't, writing about it wouldn't be something I would do. Then I started to notice that my little dog and I were doing a lot of sneezing and just not feeling our best. Because I am online a lot, I looked for answers there. The studies on indoor air quality were appalling.
We live in northern climate up in the greater Detroit area, and during much of the year, we are cooped up indoors. We discovered that if we could really change our air that we are breathing. So knowing Vornado well, I got myself the Vornado AQS.
I work every day talking about the bet of the best in Air Purification systems. Vornado is one that I talk about the most because I believe strongly in it.
There is no denying the universal law that we are far more likely to stick to a project and do the little things it takes to make it a success if we are emotionally engaged in it. At the same, time it is sometimes best for the readers to get the opinions and observations of others reviewers. This serves as an effective counterbalance of any emotional attachment that I might have. Sometimes I just flat don't make an important point clear enough
Bottom line: it is always a great thing to go out there and see what other people are saying. Different opinions make us all better. One of my favorite product reviewer is Jeff's reviews. You can see all about what he does at http://jeffsreviews.com.
Jeff does a great job of doing very detailed reviews of a wide range of products. He took on the Vornado AQS. I wanted to touch specifically in this article about an aspect that I like to mention often in my blog.
I mention the advancements in noise technology with Vornado AQS frequently. What I may have failed to do is specify the levels of noise you will experience in the three speeds available with the AQS.
Jeff correctly notes that your Vornado AQS is going to be quietest on the lowest power mode and this will mean that the job of room purification will take longer. On medium mode, the purifier is audible, but barely so. On high power when you are seeking to quickly purify your room environment.
It will do 225 square feet in an hour. You will have the trade-off of more noise to accomplish this.
The great thing that Jeff points out about AQS 500 is that you can accomplish whole room purification slower and on a lower power. In this way you achieve clean room air, but with minimal or no noise.
