Well, it's no secret, but article marketing is still alive and well. To improve search engine rankings you will want to write an effective article and make sure you post the link at the bottom so you can get some PR juice from google. This is a great way to stir up some link love and get your blog or website indexed. How I Get Traffic To My Website Using Forums.
Forums are a great way to get targeted pre qualified traffic. More than likely people with problems are going to forums for a solution. You can be that solution, all you will need to do is contribute and add value to the forum. Be a provider of good information and leave a link in your profile for more information on the topic. I got many clients this way and still do so till this day.
How I Get Traffic Using Web 2.0 Websites.
The next method I would like to talk about is the web 2.0 sites out there. With these sites you want to make sure they pass page rank and if they do make sure you abide by there rules. I know for a fact in hub pages if you try pointing links to more than one of the same domains, they will think it is to promotional and use no follows through out the content. So keep it to a minimum on the self promotional links.
The 2 sites I like for web 2.0 is Hub Pages and Squidoo. Try getting some content on there where you market your keyword in the url and title tag and this will promote some additional traffic. This is a very powerful method and these sites do rank on google.
If you want to rank on google using web 2.0 then pick longer tail keywords which are not so competitive. This will help you get that page on the first page. Regardless though, as long as that page is indexed in Google you will be fine. Just make sure it is indexed every so often. If it is not then you will need to make sure to send links to that page. Yes, send links to your competitors or other peoples pages, that is if they have your link on them.
As you can see these methods I would recommend you try first, there are more but to not overwhelm you I insist you take action on these items.
