White cloudy fish tanks is one small problem which keeps raising it's head though it's pretty easy to cure.
The most common type of cloudy water in fish tanks is that of white or grey colour.
Now normally this is a simply situation because the gravel may not have been cleaned well enough before use.
All you need to do is drain the tank, rinse the gravel until the water running off it is clear and job done.
If that doesn't solve the problem not to worry, it's probably that there is a high level of phosphates or silicates or even metal in the water making it alkaline.
Answer is simple.
Get some conditioner to treat the water.
Reverse Osmosis water can be used and may be sold by your local pet shop so check that out also.
Bacterial blossoms can also cause cloudy water but this may not happen when starting a freshwater fish aquarium, it's usually over time.
All you need do here is remove decaying plants and debris from the tank and vacuum the gravel every so often.
Don't forget of course you must carry out water changes anyway, so this will also help to rid the tank of cloudiness.
So there are some hints on treating white cloudy fish tanks, especially helpful, I hope to those just starting a freshwater fish aquarium.
Hopefully this information will give you that good start so that you can enjoy your fishy friends for life.
