Tender Writing Is Difficult This might sound like I am stating the obvious but Tender Writing is quite difficult.
This is because a very good Tender Document, which is said to have a high chance of success, is not something that can be written without a great deal of knowledge, expertise and experience.
That is, unless, the opportunity in question doesn't really have much competition at all.
But if this is the case then would you really consider it to be an opportunity worth Tendering for at all? Probably not.
After all, great opportunities tend to attract lots of competition.
It could be argued that there is a positive correlation between the fierceness of the competition and the amount of extra effort that needs to be put into writing a successful Bid Document.
Many would argue, however, that Bid Writing efforts should be consistently great despite the competition and this is what leads us to a review of what it really takes to write a Tender Document which has a very good chance of standing out amongst the competition.
How To Make Your Tender Stand Out Amongst The Competition The very best Tenders always tick all of the boxes.
This means that the writer has taken lots of time and effort to discover what the reviewer is likely to be looking for.
The supplier company must be able to provide the service to requirements that it claims it can.
This must be evident in the Bid Document.
All claims that are made must be backed up by supporting documents wherever possible.
The supplier must, basically, be the very best company in the running for the opportunity and the Bid Writer's job it to present this in the Bid Document.
Once all of the boxes have been ticked, the Bid Writer must ensure that the Bid Document does indeed stand out from the rest of the Tenders that the reviewer has received.
This can be achieved by thinking creatively and making the Bid Document truly unique amongst the other Tenders.
Common sense as well as an experienced viewpoint must be used when producing the Tender or else there is very little point in submitting it in the first place.
After all, if a job is worth doing then it is worth doing well.
Always avoid writing and submitting Tender Document that you know will not be successful because it is a waste of time - either select more appropriate contracts to Tender for if your business could not adequately complete the work, improve the aspects of your business which need improving or select more appropriate contracts if you think that the Bid Document that you are about to submit will not be considered.
And always hire a professional Bid Writer and if you don't have the skills and experience inhouse to carry out the job of Tender Writing then you should outsource the work instead.
