The same thing happened to me Just the other day while getting ready for my motorcycle ride from Albuquerque to Yellowstone National Park.
I was sure everything I needed was packed and ready, yet I had a filling something was missing.
To my surprise, while I was browsing the internet looking for I don't know what, I came across this bracket that I had been looking for to mount my video camera on my helmet.
Then the idea of browsing in the area of motorcycle equipment and accessories popped into my head.
Needless to say, I felt like a kid in a candy store and I knew right then and there that I wasn't even close to being ready.
Thank God there was enough time, before my trip, to order what I needed.

Please do not get carried away buying more that what you can afford.
Last thing you want to do is to get your mama upset and ruin your so desired excursion.
I hate to imagine you in the garage crying like a baby with your new toys in your hands, and that's no fun.
Bottom line, if you want candy you better keep mama happy.
Just explain to her how is it that the blood of an explorer runs through your veins and you can't control what you are.
Let her know it is in your DNA and that's the reason you do what you do and act the way you act.
By the way, she will not believe you.
She will think you're losing it but that's good because she will have compassion and act as if she is convinced.
